A VERY quick bit of research provides ACCURATE ( not streotyped) , current information. The current birth rate per woman in Mexico is 2.5 children. As with many other developing countries, the population is not as rural as in past years, and birth control is more available and accepted by most people. IT IS EASY TO MAKE SMART-ALEK, BUT IGNORANT REMARKS...TAKES JUST A FEW SECONDS TO GET THE FACTS.

What I found with a lot of the Hispanics I don't think it has much to do with being Catholic most of them don't even really know what being Catholic is they just fell into that religion and kind of use it as an excuse that feel that most of them don't feel important until they have kids easy their boyfriends get them pregnant just out of controlling Behavior and peer pressure in other words to use kids kind of is a show-and-tell piece so they can impress their other family members and it makes him feel really important that someone can look up to them and don't mention the anchor baby situation too

I'm Mexican and only have 2 boys and yes, there are some women who keep having kids and it does make me mad, they don't work and keep on having kids, I have grandkids and thank god, both of my boys only have 2 kids each. I was at a Christmas program with my two oldest grandsons and my husbands family's kids were running around like crazy and my oldest grandson said '' grandma why can't we run around like that? and I was like 'because they don't take care of their kids '' kids were running around like crazy and their parents not even taking care of them. it's ridiculous

Our government incourages women who dont want to work,by giving welfare, wik, free fuel, free food stamps, free appliances ,housing subsidy, free cell phone, free health and dental insurance, expenses card for clothes and pampers why would any young person want to work if they can get all that for free just for having babies, the more babies the more money. Where i live tons of young women are having illegitimate children to game the system, and brag about not ever having to work, they trade each other for the child care assistance offered too.

It used to be normal for Catholics in this country to have more kids than protestants. A priest actually told a friend of my mother's that she would burn for only having 2 kids (this was over 30 years ago).
Mexico is a predominantly Catholic nation (as most Latin American countires are), so many still believe that it is a sin to only have a couple of children. Also, since Mexican immigrants tend to be poorer than the general population, they can't afford birth control.

Great question! Totally true observation! My first wife was Mexican and all she wanted was to have lots and lots of kids. This was more important than anything else, even the overall marriage! I think it is so prevalent in the culture that it pushes all else out, especially common sense. Financial ability to support kids? Not Important! Space to live? Not Important! Husbands wishes and earning ability? Not important! Parenting skills? Not important! Everything is about having the most children possible in the shortest period of time! Most Mexicans are also Catholic as well which prohibits the use of birth control. Unless you want forever kids and own a bus, run from them!
