I'm going to try a different approach -- just to be different!
There are 24 hours in a typical day of the year.
1 year is actually 365.25 days, which is 8766 hours.
45,000/365.25 = 123.20329 years.
45,000 days is then actually 123.20329 years.
8766 hours x 123.20329 years = 1,080,000 hours.
Therefore, 45,000 days is 1,080,000 hours.
Which is the same as the simple way of 24 hours in a day, and multiplying 45,000 days by 24 hrs = 1,080,000 hrs.
Note: To the one who calculated the leap year -- the leap day counts the .25 day from each year times four years, then there's a leap day "added" (but just to make up for the 1/4 day from each year). My calculation includes the .25 in each year, and I got the 1,080,000 hours. 45,000 days still equals 45,000 days.
