i want to know how much 40.00 dollars would be in pounds?

tonight it is just over $2 to one pound so $40 is about £19.50 - but if yuou actually exchnage it you may have to pay charges

Other people's answers give forex rates rather than tourist rates. According to travelex, $40 is worth £18.26

Last time I checked (which was recently) is was $2.08 to the pound. When I lived there is was around $1.58, wow have things changed.

$1 is just over 49p. Therefore $40 is worth £19.60.
