...one particular favorite, as well as being one of the most unconventional zombie films ever, is the very disturbing and uncomfortable 1994 indie, entitled "Shatter Dead"...
...the majority of the 'living dead' genre films out there, maintain a certain level tension and uncomfortability, by virtue of the commonly used plot device, whereby the minority few must desperately survive against the odds, in fighting off and shielding themselves from hordes of mindless, gut-munching zombies...
...in "Shatter Dead", the tension and level of uncomfortability is multiplied, in an unconventional plot device, whereby the recent dead come back to life, still possessing all of their mental, vocal and mobile faculties, but quickly and progressively begin to rot and decay. They begin to grow quite mad, in witnessing their own ugly degradation, and they violently persecute and dispatch the minority population, who are still alive, because they possess what the dead have lost....life!!!
...all of this comes about, through the blastphamous and sacriligious promescuity of a renegade angel...
...all in all, quite disturbing, unconventional and underappreciated, "Shatter Dead" should someday find greater attention and appreciation. An undiscovered sleeper gem, just waiting to be discovered...

Was it Dawn of the Dead, where the gay guy makes the bad guys listen as he opens up about being gay? He has them trapped...that movie had some seriously funny stuff. Where they were calling out zombies that looked like famous people and the gun shop dude across the street was picking them off!!

Definitely "Planet Terror" as it was everything that one could hope from a "zombie" type movie. Gore, a bit of humor, over the top action, oh and did I mention gore? It has it all.

Definately Shaun of the Dead. Humour great! It isn't a scary film, but then who said that zombie films had to be! Brilliant film.

Dawn of The Dead (the recent one) because the zombies weren't brain dead and stupid, they'll run at you full speed with weapons and stuff. I thought that movie was nuts.
