I have seen pages about putting an ls1 in, but i would like to put a regular 5.0 V8 as i have one lying round. Where can I find more information about this swap? And what parts are needed? Thanks!

carbed or FI? carb would be lots easier, just slide in the motor tranny unit and fab up some motor mounts, then trans mount and driveshaft, then work on the linkages.. Volia

It can be done, but it's more expensive that other swaps. The easiest would be a 302 or the '85 5.0 Ford HO. The 351 doesn't fit easily and there's several different 351 Fords (351W & 351C, for example) and they're each TOTALLY different from the other. Make sure you're working with the 351W because the 351C just doesn't work..

Why even bother? A swap like that would take more out of your bank account than buying another decent BMW. How's about a suggestion as far as that LS1 that you have? Buy a used RX7 (fc series, but the fd series can also be used) & swap it there. If you're in Northern Ca, contact a friend who co-owns a shop named Blacktrax Performance (shameless plug...lol) in Milpitas Ca. his name's Jay. Or you can check out their website at Blacktrax.net and see the project cars that they've accumulated....I think you'll be pleasantly surprised...
