Currently, the oldest person who has ever lived is French woman, Jeanne Calment. She died at age 122, and lived from 1875-1997.

The first responder is right, 122. I was trying to remember where this was and when I heard it, but I can't. It wasn't in the U.S. though. Oh, and that was the longest life with a proven date of birth. There may have been others, but no documented birth date to substantiate.

According to the Bible, it was either Methuselah or Elisha depending on who you ask. Methuselah lived to be 900something years old. Elisha, according to the Bible, never died.
