I don't think it really matters to guys as long as you're in the normal braces age range. That is, something like 10-16. What it really comes down to in the end is your personality - not what's on your teeth(as long as it isn't like food or anything lol). Since you're getting them off fairly soon n e ways you have nothing to worry about. Just live life don't worry! ooh- i'm getting mine off in 3 days . WAHHOOOOO!

In general, without it, but, you know, sometimes it is a detail that looks kinda cute. Depends on how do you project yourself, like ... look, I have braces, I am still young, I am not perfect and not afraid of showing my smile... I care for more important things.
