She was born into wealth, she didn't even have to work. But she never married, and dedicated her life to helping the sick. She fell ill herself while treating patients during the Crimean war.

I agree.

And it wasn't just her own acts of selflessness caring for others. What she did carried over in terms of sanitation in medicine and making nurisng a respectable job rather than something prostitutes turned to when they got too old and tired to work the streets.

She was a fine woman, an outstanding thinker and a hard worker.

I'm not sure about the 'greatest 'example of humanity. but she was certainly a wonderful person who made a huge difference in the lives of countless people.

It's nice to see she is remembered with respect and gratitude.
