That's a great question. This is a prime example on why the Bible should never be taken LITERALLY. All of this stems from the book of Leviticus - specifically Lev 18:22 – “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” Same sex love for me is not my cup of tea. I do believe, though, in the love between two souls. If they both happen to be of the same sex then so be it. When it comes to homosexual marriage, I believe that marriage as an institution is not something that is God given (whatever that is). No, marriage is a contract between two people. Marriage is an act that two people engage with each other. A priest, a judge, a rabbi, or a sea captain is there to simply witness the event. The contract made between the two individuals is this: a promise to be monogamous to each other and to stay with each other for the rest of their natural lives. Period. When people are wed they are voicing their promise to a large group of people. Those are the elements of a marriage ceremony. A gay couple is essentially two people that love each other and can't have kids. It's interesting how the Bible says "to be fruitful and multiply". The reason for all of this is that Christianity is a religion that recruits primarily from married Christians. They brainwash them when they are young and then until they come up with their own life belief that's what they take with them. Remember, the easiest way to recruit new Christians is to make them as babies. The union of two men will never make that possible. The legacy of hate that the Christian Church fosters is nothing more than the ultimate evil and it is certainly something that a Christian gay basher will have to reconcile upon his or her deathbed. Don't change to make them happy.

I have never felt guilty about masturbation and nor should anyone. There is nothing to be guilty about, in fact it is recommended. Prostate cancer is something that afflicts many men as they get older. The best prophylactic against prostate cancer is regular orgasms from an early age. These can be by yourself or with a partner, it doesn't matter. No god, except a nasty one, is going to create a fun and pleasurable way to avoid a serious disease and then make it a sin. Enjoy many more years of guilt-free masturbation.
As far as my sexuality is concerned, I have always accepted it from when I understood what it was.

Sexual orientation has nothing to do with masturbation. Gay, bi and straight people all masturbate. There is nothing to feel guilty about, with regard to masturbation. It is a normal and healthy part of human sexual behaviour. It helps relieve stress and get familiar with what feels good sexually.
As for accepting my sexuality, I'm not sure there was ever a particular moment for me where it all clicked and the light bulb went on. I think I've always been this way and always knew that it is part of who I am. The important thing here is to understand that there is nothing "wrong" with being gay. It doesn't make you a "deviant" or bad person or any of the other negative things you might hear. You just happen to be a person who is attracted to people of the same sex. That's it. No different from having blue eyes vs. brown eyes or curly hair vs. straight hair. Once you realise that you are 100% entitled to be yourself then you'll feel OK with your sexual orientation.

Apparently the guilt involves masturbating to some types of gay fantasies, rather than the masturbation itself. So you need to deal with accepting that this is the nature you were born with and that regardless of what your religion or social group says, this is not an abnormality and not indicative of an evil nature.
The only way to measure it is that it is a relatively uncommon condition, but one shared by masculine as well as feminine men, smart as well as dull, handsome as well as ugly, etc., etc.
So whack away in pleasure, fantasies be damned!

I've never felt bad about masturbation. I accepted that I was gay at 12. I didn't struggle with it.

There's no reason for you to feel guilty! Be who you are. Anyone who tells you or infers that it is wrong to be homosexual is wrong. I'm straight, but I have some friends that are gay and they aren't afraid to say it!
