with the daughter. Apparently he said that anyone taking ballet was weak! Do you think a boy can last an hour and take a ballet lesson at my house in this tutu, ballet shoes, and tights?

Should I try and get him out of this or help him into his tutu and makeup!

If he lost a bet, he should "man up" (so to speak) and abide by the terms of the bet. He'll only be in the tutu for an hour. Lost Honor and Integrity can take a lot longer to recover from.

Also, being burned teaches better life lessons than being bailed out. In the future, your son will probably think twice before scorning something and/or someone that he acutally knows very little about.

I guess the worst it will do is hurt his ego and self esteem, which at this age, could mean a lot! But, he also would benefit from learning that these type of sports is not for the WEAK! Why can't he attend a lesson but in his clothes? What exactly is the benefit of wearing the tutu, makeup and tights? I'd help him out if he wanted me to, but only help convince to take a lesson with his clothes on. And, regarding his 2 younger sisters, let him decide if he cares if they watch. Isn't it weird how boys this age think girl sports (cheerleading, dance/ballet, gymnastics) are so easy that anyone could do it!!?? Good Luck!

Help into the tutu. Ballet is hard work and he should learn that. It would just be funny to see him in a tutu.

Try and get him out of it most definitly. Yes he shouldn't have made the bet but he is just in Eigth grade. Get him out of it or he will have one of the worst days of his life!

One hour in ballet shoes, tights and that blue tutu would kill most boys that age mentally. Just tell him not to make any bet like that again and if he does you won't help him out of it the next time.

I teach 8th grade and he is most certainly not the first kid to make a stupid bet. He needs to start to learn not to go to his parents to bail him out of his bad decisions, specially over something so silly! I'd "save" him from other evils instead, something that would cause harm etc.

And honestly, it will be a funny story for him to tell his kid when he is older. Not to mention, he will start to learn not to open his big mouth!

Lots of lessons with this dance lesson!

the ballet class will be painful enough! The tutu would weaken his prid though! ha ha! This sounds funny!

A ballet lesson will "learn" him to make dumbazz comments about ballet dancers....

My Marine son (former ballet dancer) would like to have a chat with your son about "weak" dancers....
