Hello! I am 26 weeks and 2 days along with my first pregnancy...a little GIRL! :) Anyway, last week I felt really, really strong kicks, so much that I could see them from under a sweatshirt I was wearing and my husband could feel and see them clearly. However, this week, particularly starting on Sunday, I have experienced a sharp decline mainly in the intensity of these kicks or punches, even though I still feel her on a regular basis. I am just a bit concerned, and probably a bit of a worry wart, but I was just wondering if any of you have experienced this and if it is normal. I would call my doctor but they are closed now. Additionally, I have been waking up to a sharp pain on my lower right side. Could she have turned and be possibly sitting there?

If it concerns you or there is NO movement at all see your doc... but keep in mind that as the baby grows larger, the less room there is for him/her to move around. Good luck!

if you feel NO movement at all then you should be worried.
Keeping a kickchart can help alleviate your mind. Everytime you feel her move/kick put down the time it happened and for how long. You can also keep a 1-5 rate chart (1 for slight wiggle, 5 for huge punch!) so you can start to see a pattern.
If you do this for a few days you will start to realise how often she is moving.
Also the more active you are the less likely you can be to feel her moving as the rocking motion in the womb is likely to rock her to sleep.
She might be in a different position and causing you the right side pain and that could also be why the movements and kicks are different to last week.

As I said, if you feel very little or no movement at all then call your doctor or go to hospital straight away.

Otherwise, relax and enjoy being pregnant

Do a kick count every day. 10 kicks in 2 hours or else call your doctor. Its important to pay attention because this is one way to find out if something is wrong. It sucks because it makes us worried, but I know of 2 people that had serious problems that they found out about based on fetal activity so you are right to be concerned. I had sharp pains along my bikini line on the left side and I believe it is from round ligament pain being aggravated by fetal kicks. This started around 26 weeks. Supposedly round ligament pain is more common on the right side.

Babies tend to move more when stimulated (my daughter loved it and would kick like crazy whenever I had a glass of milk). Also, babies show more movement at night when you are less likely moving around. She may have turned around but I am so not sure on it. Ask your doctor on your next visit, but I don't see a big problem here.

Not so much the strength of the kicks as the time between them is relevant. If you feel unsure, go see a doctor for an ultrasound

during that time for me, the babys kicks werent regular, thered be days where hed kick strong and sometimes hed kick light... but if your baby goes more then 24 hours with no movement at all call your doctor that can mean something more
