You must have chosen the wrong forum but I will answer you. 40 hrs a week, are you serious? I work 60 - 70 hours a week.

Full time was supposed to be 9-5 Monday through Friday. That concept went out the window years ago.

Average work weeks in the early 1900's were prob close to twice that. In 20's or 30's they lowered it to 11 hrs a day 6 days a week, and the employers called it "utopian" working conditions.

The 40 hour work week was established as the norm many years ago between manufacturing companies and unions. Prior to that there was unlimited hours and one either worked them or was fired....even if they wanted you 75 per week.

Well, Full-time doesn't necessarily have to be 40+. You can actually work 32hours a week and still be considered a full time worker.
