In physics we are working on a group project that talks about the future of renewable energy. Mine is geothermal. This is a new topic for me. I understand it so far but...

Can you tell me some new concepts for the future using geothermal energy? Or any links that talk about new advancemets? Please and thank you.

Go here for an introduction to geothermal power in Iceland. There is a radio piece and an article. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=16780339&ps=bb3

The biggest geothermal/electricity field in the world is the Geysers in Northern California. They have been making electricity there for about 50 years. Here is a link. http://www.geysers.com , and here is another one http://www.geothermie.de/iganews/no43/rising_fortunes_for_the_geysers.htm Just google 'Geysers' 'Energy' 'California'

Also Google, you know the search engine company, is getting into the renewable energy business and they are looking into geothermal. Just google, 'Google' and 'geothermal', there is a lot of stuff there.

To make geothermal work better. You need improved drilling technology (deeper, bigger holes), finding the right locations and keeping the field productive (reinjection of water).
