I think it's amazing because a) we're that much closer to curing it in humans and
b) if we can cure sickle cell anemia in humans, that means we can cure other diseases too, and hopefully in the future people will see the benefits of stem cell experiments. For some reason they are frowned upon, and yet they offer so many possiblities for saving peoples lives or improving the quality of life of so many people.

My finished physique is composed of billions of babies. With modern-day cloning technologies, each cellular can develop right into a clean individual, yet I viciously shed 1000's of them each hour to die chilly, unloved deaths on the floor, in my spleen, epidermis, abdomen and the rest room. And enable's no longer even start on my sperm. i'm a mass-murderer specialising in pre-natal toddlers. Now, hate me!

Is this topic appropriate ?? You're likely to offend the veeery faaar religious right-wing who believe this is tantamount to playing God !! They contend that it is "God's Will" that people suffer horribly, and die in excruciating pain, from deseases, that are the devil's work !! Which further leads to suggest that Satan is more powerfull than God, seeing that God can't prevent the devil from doing his evil work. Unless, of course, maybe God doesn't exist, or the mighty one can care less that we suffer from incurable deseases.
