She told a few of us today that we were unprofessional in a meeting. All we did was to ask questions and discuss the subject. I thought I was working... how very unprofessional of me...

You should have told her she was the one being unprofessional speaking to her employees that way, it will only make them less productive and not do their best and simply resent her. She's missing out on something in her life,,,,=)

There's an old adage that people rise to their level of incompetence in their professional lives. I certainly don't think that's always true but it seems to be in your bosses case.
Open dialog and honest discussion done respectfully is to be encouraged. Any good boss knows that.
At the same time, she's still the boss..if she's approachable, it's a point of discussion, if not...do the best you can and do what's right.
One thing I know for certain, what she's doing wrong doesn't happen in a vacuum. People will see it in time or you'll have the opportunity to do a peer or employee review on her where suggestions and ideas for her improvement will come out.
Sheesh, I'm way too serious today.
I think I'll go back to hugging now.
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! sweetie!

It has always seemed to me that to acquire the title of BOSS, you have to be an idiot, but able to intimidate and bully people enough that they dare not tell you, especially in Social Services, but hey am I being to cynical here, I guess I am.
