technology and it's effects on writing?

What do you think the effects of texting,myspace and basically the internet revolution on writing? Good? Bad? This is for a paper so as many opinions as possible would be great.

people have shortened and simplified the writing of the language. it's neither good nor bad, it's just a change. english teachers might say that now kids don't even realize how to write correctly and won't be able to get a job. maybe.

You need only look here to find that it's either dramatically hurt. Or it's given stupid people a platform they never had before.

Based on what I see on this site, I'm choosing #2.
