Items sold on Ebay are assumed to be working unless otherwise stated. Items are also assumed to match the discription in the auction. If the thingie you bought doesn't fall into these criteria, you can register a complaint with Ebay and they're pretty good at following up.

You can also leave bad feedback which will help future shoppers with this seller.

It's always a good idea to send the seller an email with any unanswered questions you may have before you bid, and like the previous answerer said, you can contact the seller after the fact and complain.

Best of luck.

Edit: If your first seller advertised and showed a picture of 2 castanets, that's what you should have received. I would make them send you another one, or have the one they sent picked up at their own expense. You can threaten a complaint with ebay if necessary.

The second seller, technically speaking, was selling a vodka bottle, and that's what you received. Unless they stated that it was new, or unopened, you are probably on your own. I wasn't aware that you can sell alchohol on ebay.

I don't think so....ask for the personal information of the person who sold you the merchandise (they have to put it when they sign up) and call...
