Wonderful, because New Jersey was where I grew up. I have been transplanted to Pennsylvania for the last 42 years. I wish something could be done to erase the stereotypical view of people from NJ!
1. NJ does not smell bad, even when driving thru Seacaucus.
2. NJ people are not all "pushy."
3. NJ is not all pavement.
4. NJ residents do not all have that unpleasant accent. We know how to pronounce the word "water."
Can you think of more?

I am from New Jersey but I moved to Indiana this year to get married...
I know that people here think that Jersey smells and that's it's all cities and that the people are rude. Well, im here to tell you all that that's not true.
I'm from South Jersey... mostly small towns and farms. People are friendly, yet firm. We don't let people walk all over us is all. And it's been many years since it has smelled there! And that was North Jersey, like 2 minutes from NY and it was only because of pollution and littering... and I blame NYC for that.
Jersey is beautiful, especially out on the farms and in the shore towns. Plus.... it's home to America's number ONE family vacation spot.... Ocean City!! Other near-by attractions? Atlantic City, Philly, NYC (If that's your kind of thing), the SHORE, etc.
PS... Jersey has the BEST drivers in the Country! Everyone else drives like old people and they all drive on the wrong side of the road! lol :-)

Jersey shore rules! But Monmouth County is now unaffordable, and the price of gas makes things worse. Princeton University is the best college on the East Coast, and a great college town. Scoreboard to anyone who gets in! NJ great state if you have lots of money, or a high IQ. Greetings from Utah.

I'm in Cali but I spent a year in Jersey City on a contract. The women in Jersey seem very down to earth and nice. Jersey City was OK but Newark was a beatdown. Good thing Manhattan was only across the river. But there are some nice parts in Jersey. The state gets a bad rap, but it's not bad.

People from the Empire State are barely even aware that Jersey even exists.

hi. Proud New Jerseyan. opposite to basic perception, 0% of the inhabitants proclaims Jersey as "Joisey." it somewhat is totally suggested "Jurzee." The Joisey pronunciation is an previous 1930's manhattan city accessory it somewhat is now not around. in case you suspect the stereotype, then bypass forward and hate. NJ is crammed with suburbs, and a shore that at the instant became well-known (in user-friendly terms a million individual in Jersey Shore is unquestionably from New Jersey). i don't see why each physique is heavily hating on the state. possibly they're jealous that New Jerseyans stay so on the ingredient of manhattan and Philadelphia and in user-friendly terms pay a million/2 of what those different states pay in terms of, nicely, each little thing. it somewhat is like, i think, Essex in England. in case you suspect that each physique in Essex is a chav, then you definately're absolute to hate it. in case you suspect that each physique in NJ is a guido, then you definately're for sure stupider than the guidos themselves.
