Time to get a lover of your own. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Regarding you: If this fling catches any fire then this woman is your dad's wife. She is not your step mother. YOu already have a mother. Your mother was motherly towards you when you were growing up. That's when you needed it most. You have less of a need for a motherly person because you are grown up. So never introduce her as you step mother. Introduce her as your dad's wife because that is what she is. Next, how about giving her the benefit of the doubt? You state you don't think she is a golddigger. She she earns over $100k per year that sure tells me her interest in your dad goes beyond money. Regarding your mom, it is none of her business. Your stated your mom believes this is best for both of them. Maybe it is. For all you know your mom is happy as a lark because the dead weight of a dead marriage is no long a problem she has. Heck, your mom could have some sweet Cougar action going on with a younger man. THere are a few people left in this world who don't kiss and tell :-). Here is one thing I highly advise avoiding. Do not try to rip your dad and his gf apart or your mom and any bf she has. The more you try to break a couple up, the more they stay together.

A friend of mine did this, he was 68 too and met someone across the country. 5 yrs later he told his wife, not out of guilt but because he was pissed at her. Amazingly she was only a little bit angry and they remained married 2 more years and then she started throwing it in his face and they divorced. Not too nice.

In any case, it is an emotional affair and if he went to see her then a physical one as well. The only reason he went there to see her is to see if he was sexually compatible and whatever else he wanted.. could have been a fling, but if he sitll talks to her then it is definitely more.

Since you know about it you may want to sit down and be realistic with each other and discuss openly about what you both really want. If you both want to work it out then okay, if not then go your own way. :)

Good Luck.

If you haven't confronted him yet, please do. It's important to try to understand the underlying causes of his meeting with this younger woman. Is there a communications breakdown at home? Is he scared of his own mortality? Is there something you do or say he doesn't like and is too afraid to tell you? You'll need to agree to remain objective and try not to feel hurt by what each of you says until you've heard the whole story. Don't forget to pray about it, too. God can see everything you two can't and can help you get this problem out in the open and restore peace.

He's not getting at home what he's getting online and in Texas (wide open spaces) Either fill in the blanks or let him go. Sounds like it's out of your hands otherwise.

It's up to you. If you want to stay with a man who cheats on you, it's your choice. I wouldn't. I'd first want to know if he has dementia . If not, I'd be gone with the wind.
