I always find that an electronic massager on the back of the neck helps quite well. The pressure points located between the thumb and forefinger ( mentioned by a few others ) is also a good treatment. There are a number of other pressure points that can be used, but I think that you should be able to find some relief with the information that you have already have received. I sincerely hope that one, or more of these techniques prove effective for you...

Come on over. I'll work out the kinks for you. Since you seem to be a bit far away, try this:
Take a small towel soaked in HOT water, ring it out and place on the back of your neck while lying on your belly. then if you have any, rub peppermint oil on your temples. BAM! Bye bye head ache

I know it sounds crazy but my boyfriend showed this to me cause I get chronic migraines because my eyesight is really bad, but anyways, if you rub the pressure point between your thumb and pointer finger in a circular motion (kinda in the little webbed-area) as long as you're rubbing that area you won't feel the headache at all! I dunno how it works but it does....sometimes it goes away for good and sometimes it comes back though.

Sometimes a massage will help because it sounds like the muscles got tensed up from maybe the position you were sleeping in...I also put a damp cool wash cloth on my neck...

You can fix it...
Take your finger tips, start between your eyebrows (like a finger on either side of the top of your nose), applying semi hard pressure, follow your eyebrows around to your temples, back to your hair line. stop. go back to the top of your nose, this time go down, under your eyes, back to your temples
repeat as necessary...but i usually find if it isn't a migraine i am dealing with a few minutes will take care of it.

Rubbing shoulders and neck and maybe get a better support for your neck because if it is sinking then it could lead to a strain.
