Can he take your kids from you. I know my old man said he would take my two girls from me if I left him for a girl. Can he do that? How do you go about divorce and custody in a case like that.

My friend left her husband for another woman and the two of them live together with their children. They have 5 between them.

I don't think that her man went for custody and at the same time i don't think the court is allowed to be judgmental on same sex relationships. It is a very common thing now and in some countries you can have a civil ceremony (like a wedding). I would seek legal advice to know for sure but i think that it would be the same as if you were with another man. The court would only consider who could provide the more stable home. You do have to remember though it will be hard on the children and they may not understand why their mother is living with another woman. When they are older they may be teased by other children as their home life is different. Not sticking up for your husband but think how you would feel if your husband said he was going to leave you for another man.

There is a lot to consider with this. Its not just a simple divorce. I would really seek legal advice to find out what your chances of loosing custody would be.

Well, it has happened before, many times. Depends a lot on what area of the country you're in, are you in a bible belt area where they hate gays? Or just a conservative area in general?

You'd stand a much better chance if you could get the hearing for custody in front of a judge who doesn't hate gays.

What you'd want to do is find an attorney who deals with these issues all the time and is an expert. I'd start with looking up attorneys in San Francisco, for instance, and then asking them for a referring to a gay friendly attorney close to where you are.

Been through this one. Go about it just like you normally would. Get an attorney and hope you can convince the judge that you are still the best parent. Good luck with that one. The kids are going to be the ones royally screwed though.

The child goes to the parent that shows most responsibility...Look at Kevin and Britney...If you want to be a lesbian(good for you)...be sure you are smart and dont put your children in harms way. He is just jealous that he couldnt make you c*m.

no I don't think he can do that. their has to be other reasons. unless he can prove you are unfit mother. All I can say is make sure you pay special attention to your kids because, even though it happens all the time, divorce really effects them.

First, nobody "goes" lesbian. You're one from birth, or you aren't.

Second, it isn't grounds to lose custody in most states.

Third, get a lawyer.

Getting married, then having kids, and THEN going lesbo suggests you are an unfit parent. It would not be good for your kids to see you and Dorothy being a couple. I suggest you move to an angry feminist blue state and be very thankful you are American and not from Islam.
