If he is convicted of pergery I think he should get jail time. However I find 30 years to be ridiculous. In some states a person can get 10-15 years for 2nd degree murder and very few rapists serve over 5-7 years in jail. Yet his crime is not as severe as them but facing more time.

If he goes to prison, I think his timed served will be comparable to what Martha Stewart spent inside. (4-6 months tops, if any!)

If convicted I would be shocked if he got any jail time at all. 2 years would not be out of line, but he's Barry Bonds. You or I would get the 30 just to make examples of us, but famous people, in this country, are usually found innocent. Paris Hilton got the longest sentence I can remember. And someone named Lohan got 45 minutes. Nah, Bonds will get a fine, maybe, and MAYBE a probation. If anything at all.

You are right. The possible sentences could be up to 30 years. However, he will be a first time offender which will weigh heavily in his favor. If he actually serves any jail time, it will be a portion of that. I have heard he would get less than a year, proabably 3-6 months, IF he actually serves time. He may not serve any time.

I don't think he'll get any thing like that kind of jail time. I think what you are looking at is the maximum via the guidelines of the offense. You're right, other crimes which are obviously worse carry lesser jail time but it all has to do with the related circumstance.

If convicted he will probably serve some form of "light" sentence. I would hope he would serve as much as he has let Greg Anderson serve. That's only fair.

Whatever he gets still will not erase the damage done to baseball and the millions of fans that trusted and believed in him.

Barry Bonds is a cheater and a liar and he deserves to be thrown into jail, it would be wrong to let him get away with this. 30 years is just about enough time to make him think before he cheats, and it will set him straight. Plus I think he will not play in 2008.

That is way to much. What is the big f-in deal. This whole court and justice system is out of order.

If the sentence doesn't include the death penalty, its not too much.
