By "alien" you infer lonely and displaced from your true origin: Yes, I have experienced this often over a long time.
You can feel discomfort, often intensely, but estrangement might be just temporary. Exclusion is two-sided- explore your own life to find where distancing yourself actually felt more useful. Self protection is not a selfish impulse. The alien feeling may arise should you feel it has been imposed upon you, rather than a defense.

I often feel dissociated with the rest of humanity but I feel quite at home with just about everything else on the planet. When I follow that line of reasoning it usually causes me to suspect that it is the rest of you who are alien and not me. Heh.

Yep..i sometimes believe that I see things that other people completely ignore. When i say "see things" i don't mean the supernatural. I tend to question and think through things way too much.
