Hmm, this question is really interesting. Sometimes I would like to trade some parts of my personality. I can be so lazy and be without so much drive. I love my dad more than anything, and my step dad, but my mom puts me down a lot and says a lot of hurt full things to my brother and I. I mean, we would never take her on Dr. Phil or anything that extreme.. but she's not happy and it affects a lot of ppl in my life. I feel more lucky or maybe fortunate than a lot of people. I must be honest, I don't have health insurance and I have some health issues that are pretty prevelant. I also really long for my mom's attention and for her to be happy for me when I do something great. My father would give me anything when he has nothing. But my mother and step father "have money" and they are very... unwilling to help me with college, health insurance, medicine for my asthma, or allergies, and when my throat started to close and I ahd welts all over my body my bf called her and wanted to take me to the emergency room. She told him that if he did that then he had better pay for it. I didn't have the money to pay for it and I refuse to let him so we stayed awake and I took 2 benadryl every hour to keep from loosing oxygen, and after 6 hours for that he took me to the Dr. Still expensive but better than a couple thousand dollar bill from the ER. But because the people in my family that are so great, my dad, step dad, bf, friends, GOD, and even my mom, I don't think I would change my life for all the money, or time from another mother or car, or college paid for in the world. Because even though another family might give me more love, money, or time, it won't be from the people I want it from. And I'm sure I see families that look perfect but have similar or worse problems than I.

Yes I consider myself very lucky. Because I could have grown up in a worse situation then I am now. And I wouldn't trade my life for the world. My siblings and my parents mean everything to me.

Given the way people drive on the freeways, I feel lucky to just be living. But more to your question, a teacher of mine once commented that the cure for envy is to consider that if you want someone else's life then you have to take it all, every bit of it. Their in-laws, their arthritis, their taste in ties, their life expectancy, etc. No, my life is not perfect, but it's appropriate. It's the unique combination of what I got and what I did with it, and I'll live with it.

I know that I'm really lucky for everything that I have, and that there are some people that would give their left leg to have what I do.. but that's on the surface. And deep down, I probably would trade it (although I'd probably have to take it into consideration first; I'm very indecisive.)

Yes I DO! My life has turned out so wonderfully, I have to rub my eyes each morning to make sure it's real. I have a beautiful family, I absolutely love my job, and Crete has to be one of the funnest places on earth. I have indeed been blessed.

When I think about how fortunate I am to live in the USA and have "freedom", or at least "freedom" compared to Nazi Germany, then I am very lucky. However, I do pity myself a lot because I haven't been happy in a while. but overall, I know I am lucky.

I don't consider myself lucky in many aspects so I would trade it for something better if I could.
