yes

they don't get on with their neighbours any better than they do with the west

they are feeling a bit braver now that Saddam isn't around to kick their a*** if they over step the mark

they finance and encourage terrorism in Iraq and fund terrorist organisations involved in the Palestinian/Israeli problem....

if Israel and the Palestinians do learn to get along they will have no influence - they don't want peace (i suspect that they are not alone in this wish among Muslim states and individuals - they seem to revel in the victim status........

even if they live in UK and have never been anywhere near this part of the world)

Iran, no doubt plays a role. There is little doubt that small arms and ied's are funneled to the insurgents along the border that Iran shares with Iraq. I believe that the key players in the insurgency are the Saudis, who take the money the U.S. sends for oil to fund the guerilla fighters. The Saudis, I believe are more interested in creating sectarian problems than they are in biting the hand that feeds them. The Pakistanis are also part of the problem. The so-called government of Pakistan is lucky it controls Islamibad. The tribal leaders in the outlying provinces, not only harbor Bin Laden, but provide sanctuary for the Taliban fighters who kill our troops in Afghanistan. Iran is a minor player, but still a player

the certainty in Iran is that of the Muslims endless Feud: Shi'ites vs. Sunnis the two want confession of religion, the shahada, as professed by making use of all Muslims, be they the seven-hundred million Sunnis who dominate the Islamic worldwide from Morocco to Indonesia or the ninety million Shi'ites who rule Iran and form majorities in Lebanon, Bahrain and Iraq. The dictates of a spiritual theocracy dominates the areas political agendas.
