True story:
I remember when I was married and my wife at the time was around 4-5 months pregnant and I was doing yard work. I had to climb a ladder and cut some branches off of the tree in our back yard using a chain saw. She asked me if I needed help and I told her that I had it under control. She got mad at me because she felt that I was sending her into the house and some how trying to exert control over her. She actually wanted to climb the ladder and chainsaw the branches her self while she was 5 months pregnant. Was I wrong?
Just one of the many ridiculous arguments we had. Why do you think this happened?

I mean why did she feel that way?

Just a point to Players2: That might be true, but when someone doesn't show that same care and attention you find women screaming: 'Can't you see I'm 5 months pregnant?!'

You just can't win.....

Why do women feel that they absolutely have to be able to do things that men do?

I can't get an erection and I'm perfectly fine with that....lol!

But outside the differences in our physical anatomy, I'd like to believe I can do whatever I want to do.

By the way, I did yard work, too, even at nine months pregnant you could see me out there mowing the lawn, etc. I know you were being very considerate to worry about her pregnant condition, but some women really are capable of (though not all) doing semi-stenuous things while they are pregnant. She was probably feeling a bit emotional that day, as pregnant women sometimes can be influenced emotionally by all those hormones.

I do most things for myself. When I was pregnant, I too got aggravated at people who would say 'you can't do that','you shouldn't be doing that'. I used to say that I wondered how women got along 100 years ago. Did their husbands hire a housekeeper and nanny?

While there is merit to your point that she should not be on a ladder with a chainsaw while pregnant, her reaction is also valid.

No one is 'wrong'. When it comes to feelings you feel what you feel.

Edit: And there is merit to the argument of hormones on her part.

Perhaps it wasn't about her feeling like she needed to be able to do the things that "men" do. Perhaps she wanted to be helpful.

Women go through what is referred to as "nesting" when they are pregnant. They do all sorts of things to prepare for the coming of the baby. They do all sorts of activities to get the house ready. They have a desire to be a part of all those activities. Even though you were outside working, she may have wanted to participate in getting the house in order, so to speak.

Perhaps a better way to have approached it would have been to say, "sure, honey." You could have given her a task, like picking up the sticks, etc. that were falling to the ground.

The other thing is that maybe she wanted to spend time with you. :)

And of course, we cannot discount the power of hormones. :)

It appears like a foul thought to me. If he fairly enjoyed then you waiting for intercourse till marriage (whilst it'd desire to be confusing) could be via no capability impossible. in case you're already questioning your self, then it form of feels to me which you already remorseful approximately what you instructed him. i'm uncertain how previous you're. you're saying which you have 3 extra years to graduate so i anticipate which you're a freshman and are around 17 or 18. i'm 21 and think of getting married that early is not any such solid thought. human beings exchange and don't mature till plenty later and a committment like marriage is extensive. perhaps that's area of the venture.

No you were not wrong. Maybe she was just feeling bad for you having to do all the work and wanted to carry her own weight. Being pregnant is frustrating sometimes because there are so many things you want to do but cant.

Well, when a woman says she feels 'controlled' by you it is a clue. I'll bet that wasn't the only time she attempted to express it to you, and then threatened to do something irrational in order to get your attention.

OR

Maybe I am wrong and she is just an irrational person.

Well during her pregnancy she should take it easy. This isn't anything against her...she just needs to be considerate of the babies health.

I don't think you were wrong in this situation.

The child is part yours and you have a say in things that might endanger the baby. BTW, I don't want to do everything a man does. I weigh 110 lbs. I'm not stupid.

B/c she wanted you to treat her a person and not an invalid.
There are many husbands who think that pregnancy is some sort of disease that should keep a woman safe and in bed.
Once again, we see how the rules change when a woman becomes pregnant. We are still people you know and still capable of doing things and your comment probably made her feel like you thought she wasn't capable anymore.
