The mic is built into my laptop and its just stopped working randomly, step by step instructions if poss! cheers!

make sure the mic volume is turned up. START> All Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Volume Controls...
Turn up the mic volume here. There may be an advanced button that you can locate a 10db boost for it to.
Where it says MUTE... leave that checked or you face getting feedback.
Try a simple recording with the sound recorder

click on initiate >upload-ons>entertainment> sound recorder click checklist and initiate talking in case you notice the line flow you're recording if no longer bypass to sound residences and enable line in besides as mic try to say some thing with that window open see which one has the bars easy up flow the quantity slider each and each of ways up then try sound recorder returned
