Onega - Yes a muse can give us some unachievable inspirations and ideas but on the other hand they helped some of the greats like Michelangelo achieve the unthinkable.
The Answer is....42!, - I am happy that you are satisfied with yours!
fbklepper - LOL Yes it is a love hate relationship?
Puppy Zwolle - She can be unkind to give us the inspiration when are bodies are less able. Sometimes I think that it was better not to have known her!
Beckett - Lol, you answer made me laugh out loud!
suzyQ - You'll have to try to "seize the moment" more often or she may just start to look elsewhere!

I don't think we really select our muses. I think they are probably hand-picked for us by the gods that be to supposedly fit our own creative nature and abilities.
And in a creative person's life time they can have more than one muse, sometimes several at once.
While I've never really wanted to fire mine, I've certainly wanted to teach her better manners, wanted to get her to be on the creative time clock during more practical, convenient hours and sometimes wanted her to talk me out of a few directions my art was leading me.
If muses are selected to match our creative personalities I suppose I deserve this cocky, strong-willed, stubborn, self-focused and slightly arrogant muse of a woman I've been given.

it's not the muse i would fire.. it's my hands i'd put into the fire. it's like the muse give me the perfetc idea, and the inspiration, it's just my hands that seem unable smetimes to achieve what my muse has so kindly whispered in my ear.. maybe i SHOULD fire the muse for giving ideas too hard to achieve !!

No, but occasion she has wanted to fire me!
She gives me great inspiration for some creative endeavour and sometimes I am just too lazy, tired,(ill, maybe) to act on it. She's getting very discouraged. I think she's looking around for a more receptive vessel!

Heh heh. Dr. Watson almost does.
But yeah. For giving me the inspiration but not the strength to do what is required to make it work.
