You are as much a corrupter of history as you claim others are .Those who debate this issue on a Republican /Democratic Party perspective are simply and deliberately obfuscating the issue for banal political reasons As both parties have ideological mutated on a number of issues ,one should only use the terms "liberal" (not classical liberalism which is not the modern dayliberalismd ) and "Conservative" when debating this issue. Southern politicians have always for the most part been conservative both in their economicideologyy but also in respect to social ideology .Ergo,in the 1860s and for decades after ,the Democratic party was crammed with Southern conservatives as they refused to join the party they should have ideologically been with ,theRepublicana Party because it was the party off Lincoln the emancipator. It was therefore vile racist Southern conservatives in Democratic Party clothing that up to the early 1960s gave us Jim Crow ,the KKK, and murderous slaughter / lynchings of that period right up to their collective killings of innocents in the Civil Rights era (including 2 little Black girls burned to death in their church). They of course fought the LIBERAL Civil Rights battle and Bill and lost .Immediately upon losing ,these vile Southern conservatives known as Dixiecrats as after over 100 years bolted the Democratic Party and went home where they always belonged, the Republican Party . As a result ,the Republican Party once the main party of the North is now the main party of the South where conservatives rein (at least social conservatives ) and te Democratic party is now the partyof te North . From the URL below : "Founded by anti-slavery activists in 1854, it dominated politics nationally for most of the period 1860-1932. 18 presidents have been Republicans." If the Republican Party was so anti-slavery and de facto pro Black, why after all these years in power did they not pass a Civil Rights Act but waited for the Democrats to do so ?? The Republican Party after the 1860s was no friend of the Blacks Asker wrote: "lot of black people sold out their party for LBJ's "free milk and cookies" and now vote for the same elites who have oppressed them and held them down for centuries. " Absolutely ludicrous !!! The Republican party's consist changed radically over the years after 1854 when anti-slavery ruled. Blacks never sold out the Republican party but the party sold them out by NEVER even attempting to pass anythinf that would at long last give Blacks their Civil Rights . Good try but no cigar .

i want the next president to take concrete, actionable steps, as Jimmy Carter did by placing solar panels on the White House, to end america's dependence on foreign oil through investment, research and development of alternative fuel options. (Issues: Energy, War, Foreign Policy, Environment...)
i want the next president to be received as a rock star around the world, as Bill Clinton still is, because this proves to us, and the rest of the world that America is not hated - but our violent and imperialistic policies and actions are. (Issues: Foreign Policy, Deomestic Security, Economic Stability...)
i want public education to be treated like the oil industry so all of us can have the best education in the world. not just those who can afford it. because, across the board, a more educated populace is a more productive and safe population. (Issues: Education, Jobs, Economy, Health, Financial Security...)
because of the nasty polarization of america - from both sides - i think only a democrat can provide these benefits in the coming administration. republicans don't seem to want or care about these 3 issues - based on platform and policies. and only a strong majority of democrats and an democratic president can bring this about.

Of the two major political parties, they are more likely to advocate policies that would help all Americans.
The Democrats are, without a doubt, the lesser of two evils.
More political parties with a legitimate shot at winning elections would be nice, though.

I don't believe any politician or party could do anything for ALL Americans, which is why I believe anyone who would even consider running for President would have to be a little bit nuts. Try to help out one group and you're bound to offend another. Sometimes I think the U.S. should be broken up with each state functioning as a nation unto itself.

John Edwards has the best ideas of them all. He believes that before you go into a war get the other nations on board.
We don't need someone who thinks they are the decider.
He is not afraid to ask others what their opinions are.
Nor is he afraid to stand up to ones who do not support his ideas. He is for giving the rest of the Americans health care.
Rich people have Insurance, poor have a medical card.
Old people have medicare. For those tiny few who have nothing let's give them a break.
Make health care or medical Insurance affordable.
They won't hopefully keep us broke worrying about foreign countries and concentrate on this country before it is to late.

SportsBM is so funny Driving up the National Debt seems to be a NEW Republican trait
Democrats will reverse the obscene tax cuts given to Americas wealthiest people
Warren Buffet the worlds third richest man says he pays too little in taxes. He believes that Bushs tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans is wrong!!
He say that he pays less in taxes than his secretary (percentage of income)
He has challenged his millionaire and billionaire counterparts to prove that they pay more (percentage wise) than their secretarys
IF THEY PROVE IT HE WILL GIVE THEM $1 MILLION IN CASH
SO FAR NO TAKERS
