I was 11 years old and it was on Thanksgiving day. We were at a family friends house for dinner. I had horrible cramps but I didn't know that is what it was at the time. My period was brown (not red). I thought at first that I hadn't wiped myself properly, but when more showed up on my panties I knew that couldn't be it. I didn't know what was happening to me. I put toilet paper in my panties and tried to enjoy the holiday.

When we got home I showed my mother my panties and she started pulling out stuff from under the bathroom sink, and mumbling stuff. Finally I just asked her what it was.
She said, "It's your period, honey."
Me, "But it's brown!"
Mom, "It will change soon enough once you get regular."

Then after she was done getting me set up with pads and liners. We went out into the living room where she ANNOUNCED to my father, "Harry, your daughter got her period." Then she left the room. I was mortified and my father looked shocked. It was one of the most uncomfortable moments in my life.

I don't get cramps during that time...so I had no warnings or anything but luckily enough when I got my first I was sat on the toilet!! My primary school/secondary school both had talks to the class about stuff like that in our sex education so I was pretty calm. I used my mum's stuff and so she didn't really know until I'd had them about 4-5 times when I finally asked her for some supplies!!

Horrible, I was at church camp and I was 11. My Mom was prepared though and had packed all the necessary items, and I knew what to do. I had the preacher bring me home, but of course, I didn't tell a soul what was happening.

I had mine a little less than a year ago, a few weeks after I turned thirteen. All I have to say is this; lots of cherry red blood, minimal cramping, and moodiness.

I was scared and wanted it to stop. Luckily I had been told about it when my mom gave me "the talk".

*shivers* There's a memory i want to forget.
