Sure, I'm American and I visited Cuba. All you have to do is fly outside of the US, and then buy a ticket on a flight to Cuba(its impossible to get a direct flight from the US). The ban on Americans traveling in Cuba is only inforced by the USA, not Cuba itself. The only way that you can get caught is if Cuban Immigration stamps your passport and customs in America sees the stamp. Generally customs inspectors in Cuba know not to stamp US passports; however a friend mine almost had their passport stamped but stopped them at the last moment and asked nicely if they could avoid stamping the passport and slipped a $20 American bill onto the counter. The Customs official kindly obliged.

No Visa is required by the cuban government for americans to visit cuba. Just buy a a plane ticket in any country with flights to Cuba and hop on board.... it really is that easy!

It's illegal for a US citizen to travel to Cuba because of the US embargo against Cuba.
You can be fined up to 1,000.000 US$. Check this out on the website of the US Treasury Dept.
http://www.treas.gov To travel to Cuba you need a license from above mentioned US Treasury Dept.
Having said this, several US citizens ignore this law, and an estimated 100,000 already went illegal
to Cuba. There are no direct fights between Cuba and the US because of the embargo. Some US citizens travel thru Cancun Mexico or Toronto Canada. The immigration officers in Cuba will not stamp your passport , but watch out , don't buy any Cuban stuff, if the US Customs or Immigration services discover cigars , a Cuban t-shirt or other indications that you came from Cuba you will be subjet for further investigation and possible sanctions.

There are very tight restrictions on US citizens visiting Cuba. I would imagine the State Department website would delineate these for you. Americans are not allowed to spend money in Cuba. Implications are, you could be arrested.
