Write to the Yahoo techincal and tell them you want to be able to cross dress your avatar to reflect your personality, see what response you get.

The only way I've found to cross-dress my avatar is to make sure you sex is set to female in your profile defaults & then you should be able to dress-up your avatar as a girl, that's how I did it.

Why not make another avatar that is a woman so when you don't want to be a man on your avatar you can be a woman?
