"We dont ask them to." - actually we do.
"We have a non proliferation treaty with the UN, obviously you dont know this" - you obviously don't know that we signed that treaty in 1968 and continued to stockpile NEW weapons until 1992. You must also be unaware of the fact that the 2nd pillar of that treaty was to disarmament, which we has always refused to do. Don't test me buddy, I'll win.

well said!
and to the poster who claims we don't make new stuff...
we aren't making new DELIVERY systems. since Bush stole power in 2000, however, we have manufactured enough highly enriched uranium for 34,000 Nagasaki-size detonations.

You're missing the main point here...in Iran's case in particular, they've openly threatened Israel, us and our allies. It's not too far fetched to believe with the rhetoric that's been spouted that maybe we should just take Iran at their word (or at least their president) because he seems just crazy enough to use a nuke...better safe than sorry.
On top of that...what do you want us to do? You think it'd make a great example for us to get rid of ours first? Real progressive and neat-o? And you assume that the rest of the world will follow? Taiwan? China? Japan? Russia? Pakistan? India? Israel? Iran? All of these countries have weapons in their pockets and all of these countries are in some sort of conflict with a neighbor.
First of all, we sit at the top of the planet. Say what you will about it, but fact of the matter is that the whole world has us in their sites. Us doing something as stupid as disarming first would be insane. The only thing stupider is to assume that anyone else will independently. It'd have to be a simultaneous effort--which won't happen anyway--and then we'd have to trust each other that we really DID disarm. We don't even trust our own government, but you want us to trust everyone else's too?
Finally...it's deterrence. It's what ended the Cold War. Mutually Assured Destruction insures that no matter how bad you think you're giving it to us, you'll be getting it back as well. There is no sense in any of us having them anymore...we're all scared of the retaliation...but NO ONE is going to be the first to disarm.
We have not used them and I do not foresee a time when we ever will. The destruction is unparalleled and as we know, the collateral damage would be extraordinary. IT would take one hell of an escalation for us to get to that point.

Think straight, be transparent, do obvious, stay confident and don't harm others.
And if you ask in literal sense then I shall say imagine an horizontal line in front of ur face which is parallel to the grount and passing through your both the eyes.. Now if you tilt ur face that line won't remain straight any more, so keep the line straight, rest will be taken care ;-)

We aren't a terrorist nation. How can you not tell the difference? If we constantly attempted to blow Mexico off the map, had training camps where we taught people how to kill Mexicans, and were building up nuclear technology, do you think Mexico would frown on it? Why would Israel feel any different about Iran?

Have Bush do it ... the man is a master at lying and keeping a straight face. He had 85% of the US believing that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction ... but yet in the YEARS we have been there, not a bit of it has been found ... hmmmmmmmmmmm
