Well, she actually keeps eating the bows and wrapping paper. She's an inside dog (2 1/2 year old boxer female) and she has plenty of toys to keep her occupied. Any tips on what I can do to keep her away from the newly wrapped presents under the tree when we are away?

She only messes with the presents when we are away, so we aren't able to catch her. Also, we are not able to leave her outside... no fence... busy area... etc.

You should get a baby gate. They make them big and curvy now.

Check out your local toy store or baby center.

The bows are something new to her so she's interested in them. Maybe give a few loose bows and ribbons to her to play with...she'll eventually get bored with them and probably leave the presents alone too.

If that doesn't work, store the presents higher up so she can't get to them. There's 18 days left before Xmas, your presents don't need to be under the tree until Xmas eve. I know it looks nice under the tree but if you want to avoid your dog from getting at them, you have to either keep the dog away from the presents (fence or partition) or keep the presents away from the dog.

Santa doesn't come until after midnight on December 24, and if you come home from church that timing should be perfect. What are the presents doing under the tree now? when they should be hidden. And, aren't you rushing that holiday a little? What's the hurry? And, can't you wrap a few boxes with nothing in them so your pet can have a little fun?

Put a gate to keep her from getting to the room where the Christmas presents are. She, too, must be all excited about Christmas.

Put the presents somewhere high up or in a cupboard so your dog can't reach them. Or, if that doesn't work, train your dog NOT to eat the presents (or bows or whatever).

I agree with Judas Pope, just put them away until Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, it will be like Santa came overnight.

Move the presents elsewhere. Why do they need to be under the tree? This is kind of a no-brainer.
