I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. My condolences. If she was making payments, you (or her executor) should contact the company she financed it from. There may be mandatory insurance associated with the loan that pays it off in the event of her death. You need to know that.
After you've found out what the situation is, if you want to sell it, do so. If you don't think you're ready to get rid of things that were your moms, then wait a while until you are.
You're never going to feel the same anymore, but eventually some of the pain will subside. Just remember all the funny lovely memories of your mom,

Well, if she was still making payments on it, then you need to contact the lender. You should be able to work something out with them because they own the title to the car.

If she has the pink slip, then you could sell it. Or use it. It's up to you. Do what you think best.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

If you are the only (or closest) relative, you may do as you wish with her car. I am sorry for your loss; I know you must be going through a rough time and may want to wait a bit before you make a decision. God bless.

Sorry for your loss.

Depending on your state (this is true in NJ), even if you are appointed Executor in her will, you will still have to file a probate petition before you can take ownership on any of her possesions.

Well what does her will state? YOu have to follow what her will says to do with it. If she never had a will then sell it to pay off any estate fees and burial fees.

Unless the title is in your name, you wouldn't be able to sell it.
