I mean, what would have to happen? ie. Someone bombing the US like Japan did or Osama sending his sheep to fly our own planes into our skyscrapers so we enter Iraq.

Also, if you have served in this war, I understand you thought it was fighting for our freedom pre-Bombs over Baghdad, how about now, knowing that their were no WMD's and Saddam wasn't a serious threat to our well-being?

OoOoO, I like breast-feeding mom's.

I'd join up if there were an invasion or if a country was threatening us....and was a serious threat.

And from what in my question did you see me even attempting to call our servicemen and women stupid? My brother's in the Air Force moron.

i'm actually considering joining the military anyway after i graduate, but there are certain things that would almost garuntee my enlistment
1. an invasion or attack of any part of my country by a foreign government
2. a declaration of war by any foreign government
3. the death or injury of someone particularly close to me from an enemy combatant
4. a request from my president and congress for recruits to fill a desperate need in order to accomplish a task that i feel is legitimate after personal research

The only way i join the military is via the 2nd Amendment. If I see a bunch of Chinnesse or Russians or any other "peoples" on the coast line of Santa Monica or Venice Beach. Then my friend I'm in the army! I will grab a gun and fight til the death! But never will i join to fight when my neighborhood is not in trouble. And i will not join/fight/and die to keep the oil supply in check or to make rich killers even richer.

All they have to do is ask. I've already served 10 years and I'll gladly go back if they would wave the age restrictions so I could. There WERE wmd's and Saddam was a serious threat. The liberal head in the sand policy is going to destroy our country some day.

i'd take up arms if someone forced their way in merely to destroy America. if a force of 200,000 invaders occupied, say, Connecticut or Wyoming, i'd be there.

which is what i feel like i'm doing when i verbally spar with theocrats who have essentially stolen half my country already. but taking up arms against them is doing exactly what Jesus taught us NOT to do. so no need to fight them.

now, if it were just some tired, poor, huddled masses here to make a decent living, well, that's not an invasion, either. actually, i more than appreciate their efforts to take advantage of the capitalist system and better themselves. hooray!

now, if it all came down to an invasion of Texas, nahhh, I've been waiting for Mexico to reclaim Texas for years. or for them to secede. either way.

Without a draft, I wouldn't join. It wouldn't matter, as I am Canadian, and we chose not to go to Iraq, which I stand by our government for not going.

People can easily contribute to the war effort without fighting, like they did during WWI and WWII. The made sacrifices and rationed goods for the troops. For some reason the only thing the US government is asking its citizens to do is go shopping. Maybe more people would have a connection with the war effort, if they felt its impact at home.

President Bush would have personally join the war and walk point, kicking strange looking packages as he walked along the road in Baghdad to make sure they do not contain bombs.

A direct invasion of my country would be the cause for me to take up military actions.

I would need to be young again (younger)
At 41 I'm to old to be sleeping in a hole (my opinion) and running with 19 year old kids.
