It's very inexpensive to go to a lawyer on an uncontested divorce (where both parties agree on the divorce and who gets what). VERY inexpensive. I'd go that way instead of trying to do it myself and possibly leave some loose ends.

Actually, it is okay to cry. You should definitely take an hour to have a good cry over the loss of life as you've known it. Did you get a choice as to which parent you will live with? Will you be able to visit your mother often, I hope? This is not your fault. I think it's important to remember that she's not abandonning YOU. She still loves you as much as ever. She is just very unhappy in her marriage and that is partly your father's fault and partly hers. (It is never just one person.) So, try not to take sides. Love them both and tell each of them you do not want to listen to them bash each other! In the meantime, I am sure you have friends whose parents are divorced. Talking to one of them might help you. You can always go to your favorite teacher or the school counselor for guidance, too. They will all help you get through this. It's a transitiion, so it's tough, but you will be okay in awhile. Really. God Bless you.

Well I think you need to first go to the county were you got married and you need to go to the court house there you are going to ask for the documentation that you need to get divorced and she need to go with you both file and you need to pay the fees that they ask you to pay to get divorced the start the process and in a couple of months you will go before a judge and he will let you know both are divorced.

Buy a Do-it-yourself divorce kit. Call the court house, make an appointment with the judge and present the papers. All you'll need then is the judge's signature.

Your divorce sounds pretty cut and dry you can just go to the court house where you recieved your marraige certificate and ask for the divorce forms, they might however tell you its in your best interest to hire a lawyer.

Doesn't matter what she wants, you need to get a lawyer to get everything correct. Who know, next week she may have a change of hart and want HALF, even half the value of the because you were still married when you bought it, so be aware and protect yourself.

Don't know, I just pay the lowest rate for an uncontested divorce and let the lawyer handle the paperwork.

You can go to staples and get the forms there. Very cheap!!!
Then after you fill them out take them to city hall.
