I am 25 years old, and morbidly obese (more than 100 lbs overweight for 10 years now). I have always had very regular periods, I had no problems getting pregnant when I conceived my first two children. I am not attempting to get pregnant now, but I have missed my period. I should have started November 25th and am now 12 days late. I have taken two tests, one 2 days ago and one this morning, both with first morning, fresh urine, and both were negative (know how sometimes you can see a faint line where the control line is? I couldn't even see that). I have never had a miscarriage before, am not on any medications, and eat normally. I have no known thyroid condition, am not diabetic, have not been in an accident, and have sex on a regular basis with barrier contraception. My stress level at work is significantly lower than it was 4 months ago, although I am working the swing shift (2 3rd's, 2 1st's, and a 2nd shift. Can you please help me figure out what may be causing my missing period?

Stress, illness & medication as well as change in your work schedule can affect your hormones, thus changing your cycle. I would call and make an apt. with your doc. & get some blood work done to be sure.
