Paul Henreid played Victor Lazlo in Casablanca, and also played opposite Bette Davis in Now Voyager. Charles Boyer was the sensual star of Algiers and Gaslight, among other films. In my opinion these two were the most romantic actors ever. I have never read anything negative about either man, and your opinion will be appreciated. I still love to watch their old movies.

Yes, they were attractive. Charles Boyer and those bedroom eyes....wow.

I love the old classic movies; I have every film Bette Davis ever made - and Katherine Hepburn, Rita Hayworth and others. Also adore Bogart and Bacall, Crawford, Eve Arden, Zachary Scott. They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

Today I enjoy Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Anthony Hopkins, Harrison Ford, Dustin Hoffman (a genius)....

But nobody can touch those old movies and old Hollywood stars.....

Paul Henried, not gorgeous, but a distinguished look I can appreciate. If he loved you, it proved you were something out of this world. Charles Boyer? What is going on there? He is truly creepy looking and acted so slimy. I personally think his role in "Gaslight" was perfect. He could charm an innocent girl into marrying him, but it was so easy to believe he was a psychopath. I still think Jimmy Stewart was wonderful.

Thinking of Casablanca, I never saw any romantic charm in Humphrey Bogart. He was a good actor in diamond-in-the-rough roles, but not attractive. He was so cute in "The African Queen" -- the crusty old drifter falling in love with the skinny old missionary -- but that's as far as it went.

Boyer was a favorite of mine...though he was in his 40's when I was just born, I enjoyed all his movies. As I was reading up on him I came across what is below which I didn't know and found so bittersweet and sad.

Boyer's only marriage was to British actress Pat Paterson whom he met at a dinner party in 1934. The two became engaged after two weeks of courtship and were married after a three month engagement.[20] Later, they would move from Hollywood to Paradise Valley, Arizona.[21] The marriage lasted 44 years.

Two days after his wife died from cancer in 1978, Boyer committed suicide with an overdose of Seconal while at a friend's home in Scottsdale. He was taken to the hospital in Phoenix where he died. He was interred in Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, California, United States alongside his wife, and son Michael Charles Boyer. At the age of 21, Michael had committed suicide by playing Russian roulette after a breakup with his girlfriend

Henreid was a great actor but I never could see him in a romantic sense...

Charles Boyer was a handsome man. I had fogotten him until you mentioned the name. I was born in 1950 but my mother loved to watch those old 1930's & 40's romantic movies on TV so I saw them too. I've watched Casablanca but only remember Bogart and Bergman. The old movies do tell great stories without all the violence and explicit sex. Good viewing for a long winter's night.

I liked both of them. I remember being so eager to see Boyer and Ingrid Bergman in "Gaslight" when I was still in elementary school. He really tried to drive her insane but Joseph Cotten saved the day. "Now Voyager" is a classic romantic movie and Henried was perfect and so was Davis.

I did like those 2. One of my favorite movies was Now Voyager. I've seen it about 15 times. Charles Boyer was so charming and with that accent, he made me swoon.
