Or whatever the heck her name is?

I'm a brotha, and I like rich, pretty white girls as much as the next guy. But WHY is it every time one ends up missing, we hear about it for YEARS?!?!?!

I have a feeling if Natalee was Shenequah from tha 'hood, her story would get very little to no play... If you guys know me, I never play the race card, but in this case, looks like I got a royal flush.

What do you think?

Niff: you're right. I think it's more about wealth and class than about race.

I agree with Hennessey. Buy yes...pretty white girls get more attention that Shamequonda would. Why? The news knows they get more ratings and viewers if they show what people will most likely pay attention to. Sad thing about America is that we pay more attention to beauty and money than we do about the individual person.

I agree. The only time anything should be reported about her is when there is a major break in the case such as her body being found or one of the perpetrators confessing. Otherwise, let it go. There are thousands of other missing people and some have been missing for years, even decades. Their stories aren't being reported and I don't know what makes her so special that she deserves all this attention. True, it's sad that she disappeared and I'm sure it's devastating for her family but come on. We don't need to be bombarded by stories on the news that really don't have any new information.

It sucks because she IS someone's daughter, but I totally agree with you about this... if the victim is attractive, then the media goes nuts. There are so many helpless missing kids out there, NOT 18 year old drunk Hoes who leave bars with dudes, who deserve the media attention. Unless you are Jon Benet Ramsey, (blonde, white, rich) your case in point...

Dunno Pete...I think if it was a poor white girl from the trailer court she'd get no play either...I think it is the "R" (rich) word that is giving it play...that and the fact that they found "new developments".
