The disgausting dispicable KKK and neo-nazi mob call blacks sub-human and backward. How do black culture respond? Rap videos with rappers throwing money at strippers and dragging women around on dog leads.

Look at someone like Barak Obama, he is the embodyment of respectability: honest, down to earth, sucessful and well spoken. Doesnt the black community need to promote him as a role model. instead of the idiot rappers or demogogue preachers?

You'd hope. Instead though, it seems that positive role models just get called Oreos, Uncle Toms, or House Niggahs.

I think truthfully culture is culture. America is viewed by white standards. The education system is geared toward white middle class people. Black people, hispanics and immigrants enter schooling in this country at a considerable disadvantage. I think what your saying is relative by standards, the way you view African Americans and all people are through white eyes. So in your view, a person who is displaying positive traits is really a reflection of the social norms made up by American society geared toward white middle class values. Imagine white people or other people having to fit into the norms, values and culture of African American, Native American, or French people for arguments sake. Our culture would be looked at as different and to some bad.

I wouldn't say that obama is someone to look up to, but I would say that they should try and idolize more respectable members of our community.

I don't want this to sound to raciest so I'm going to throw in my side note here. I'm not raciest I have several black friends and I don't dislike individuals for the race its the way they present themselves. Same with any race you act the way they do in the rap videos me and you probably won't get along.
