If you don't like ur job go straight ahead man I don't have a problem but if your working with japenese people say "You should've been there."

No, it wasn't funny to either the Japaneese or Americans on 12/7/1949 and it still isn't funny today. I think you may find that the Japaneese have deeply devided feelings within thier own ranks.
You would have to go back and study the history of that time,
as well as the cultural differences to begin to understand the emotions you may be triggering when you bring the subject up.
Some Japeneese were deeply shamed when they learned that the attack began before the actual declaration of war (The declaration was supposed to be delivered 1/2 hour before the attack began)

Pearl Harbor day would not get a response, after all, they kicked our As* on Pearl.
But if you bring in a mushroom cloud shaped cake celebrating Victory In Japan day it would be simply hilarious... you would really be on to something there......Like unemployment, but good luck with that.

No, and it would not be funny...especially to a senior member. With thoughts like that, I doubt you are going to last in a Japanese company too long.

I knew a guy who was employed in such an environment. He hung a very large (something like a 4 foot wing span) plastic model of a B29 from the ceiling in his work area. It was painted after the markings on the Enola Gay. Not seen him for years. He doesn't work there anymore.

No. Although it is something that they are known, for, I don't think It would be wise make a remark again on that particular subject. Only maybe, if it had to deal with something related to your topic. But overall, I'd leave it alone.
