It happend either today or yesterday. And this is not the first time it has happened. I know now not to bring money to work but I need to find out who stole it because I'm almost positive I'm leaving for another job soon. My workplace doesn't even have cameras and the managers won't even do anything about it except tell me not to bring money...How messed up is that???

Call the police.

I know someone answered telling you to call the police and I would want to do the same but there is not a whole bunch they can do or would do in this case, especially if there is no camera's.
I know how frustrating situations like this can be and it is really sad that we can't trust many people now days.
I hate to say it but there is nothing that you can do, I wouldn't look for a new job just because someone stole from you. I think by staying there eventually the truth would come up at some point, especially if there is not many employee's.
chances are they'll do it again, if not to you to someone else and they will be caught eventually.
Good luck

If you really want to figure it out you can do the following:

set up webcam or some type of surveillance camera in your office/cube which is streaming to the video to your harddrive of your work PC when you are not at it.

Put some money where you normally keep it and mention that it is there (to spread the word money is there again), but do it subtly.

When you get back to your office/cube from stepping away each time (or when you get into the office in the morning) simply review the footage. If someone stole your money, take the footage to the police. Voila!

you can't expect managers to protect you from this. you have to do it yourself. i agree with them. it is your problem. you don't need to find out who took it. just give it up and let it go. their advice and approach is not messed up to me at all. you need to take responsiblity for yourself. if you didn't lock your car and something got taken out of it in the parking lot would you think they should do something about it? no,

I don't think anyone will come forward and admit it, so chalk it up to experience and move on with your life.
