Those were for about a year. I did withdraw out of school. I then took an online class over 4 months to get a certificate in medical transcription. I want to go into Pre-Pharmacy next fall, but am wondering if there would be an issue with those failed grades. This is the same institution as before, and I will be trying for readmission. Will these past grades hurt for when I am trying for Pharmacy school?? (this will be at a different college than pre-pharmacy).

I had A's and B's in the midportion of the first semester. Basically, I ended up having a gambling problem that overwhelmed me. I have not gambled for 4 years this February, and know that I would do great (I've always been great with school).

Most of the courses I took then are ones that I would need in Pre-Pharm, so taking them over would not be a problem with me. UND would be the school I am talking about, and they are the only Pre-Pharm school around. I would be going to NDSU for the School of Pharmacy. Just knowing that I might be able to take these classes over helps ease my mind a bit.

Yes, the grades will follow you. Some schools allow you to retake the classes, and will then not count the old (bad) grades in your GPA. Although it is time consuming to retake a bunch of classes, it might be worth it.

If you apply to another school as a transfer student, they will count the credits but you will typically start with a clean GPA. This might be the way to go, if you have other schools around you.

Regardless of what you do, those grades are going to be there. What you have to do in order to get into a competitive program like pre-pharm is to make up for your past mistakes.

Get straight A's and bust your b..!

Grad school will look at your improvement, and that counts for a lot with admissions.

You can do this! Don't let your past haunt you! Just fix it!!

Good luck!

They would hurt a bit, but I think you still can go back to school. You can bring up those grades with retaking those courses I believe. I don't know if its too late to replace the grades but you can ask.

Its a good idea to do a lot better of a job when in school and bring up your GPA. Pharmacy school will look at your GPA and make their decision and with time, you can bring that back up.

How did you do before that semester? If you had been doing well before you dropped out, they can assume that you might have gotten your act together in the meanwhile and that you could succeed this time. If the only record you have with them are the failing grades, then they probably won't easily take you back.

Yes, the grades will still appear on your transcript. However, you can likely take the courses again, and hopefully get better grades. The new grades will overwrite the old ones. My wife had to do this and it worked out for her.

You need to talk to someone at the school. Go to the admissions office and ask to speak to someone about applying.

Possibly but you won't know until you apply and see what they say. Best of luck!!
