2 outs, your team have a 1-0 lead....Arod up at the plate.
you think you can get arod out?
or you think you'll throw 4 consecutive wild pitches/balls and eventually blow the game?

lol, I know some will of you will be tempted to say Arod chokes in the playoffs and say you'll easily "strike him out" or he'll pop up.....but the bottom line of this question is based on your ability to pitch in the worst situation and the highest pressure! sub in Jeter up at bat instead of Arod if you feel the need to!

I'm with Craig. It's easy to sit at our keyboards and complain about his clutch stats, but put most of us on that mound and we'd soil ourselves.
Personally, I'd love the opportunity to pitch in the bigs but in this case I'd groove one (since the yanks ARE my team.)

Current hitter: Derek Jeter: Cool under pressure, handles playing in NY, has a history of being clutch in the post-season. (all though Papi isn't far behind, I've seen a few clutch hims from him against the Orioles that I'd like to forget. Then there's also 2004) Current pitcher: JJ Putz: A lot of people forget that he has yet to blow a save this season, give me a guy who has the ice water in his veins, and evidently the stuff to back it up. All time hitter: Babe Ruth, the man knew a thing or two about being clutch in the world series did he not? All time Pitcher: Mo Rivera earlier in his prime. Just to throw it in as an Orioles fan: All time Orioles: Eddie Murray at the plate: Two homeruns in the clinching game 5 of the 1983 world series where the Orioles brought the trophy home to Baltimore from Philly. Greg Olsen on the mound: The Orioles never made the world series during his tenure in Baltimore (late 80s/early 90s), but Olsen is probably the best closer that the Orioles have had in their history.

I play college baseball and im a pitcher who throws high 90's. Fastest ive thrown is 98 mph which i can blow by arod. Just gotta pitch it low outside to him which he cant lay off. He chokes in pressured situations. Hopefully I can face him someday.

I would pitch to him 100%...If you strike him out, you could brag that u struck out a 3-time AL MVP to win the World Series for your team. If he gets a hit off you, what can you do? You were facing the best baseball has to offer. It sucks to give up a hit in that situation but it would be worse if it was to a .190 life-time hitter.

I bet I could get some pitches over the plate and I would also bet that my 70 MPH heater would get smashed out of the park. Unless he thought that I had 99 MPH gun and he was completely fooled on the first pitched, but that is doubtful.

I'd throw a little fastball right down the middle going 40 m.p.h, and he would smash it 470 feet into the center field tarp. Then, Yankees win.

My 75mph fastball barely broke glass, my slider fooled no one over the age of 14, my change was set up by the fastball and my screwball, although whacky looking was really only useful for one strike per at-bat.

Keep the ball down, get a ground out, and watch those losers go home - not that they'll make it to the World Series with that team of geriatrics.

maybe you can ask any of the pitchers of the Cleveland Indians. They seemed to do a pretty good job of containing Arod in the ALDS.

Nope... I'd pick off Jeter at 2nd :)
Seriously, unless anyone here is a MLB pitcher, no chance, the best anyone here could hope for is a miracle popup.
