The NIE report concerning Iraq was cooked by Cheney going to the CIA everyday and taking the intelligence and rewriting it. The NIE wouldn't let the White House see it this time untill it was finished and it was witnessed by others that are not involved with the White House. Here's another proof that this report is accurate: Hans Blix and Scott Ritter both know and said that Iran had no nukes already almost a full year ago. They were both right about Iraq not having WMD's. I trust their judgement more than the CIA's or the NIE. They have no reason to be partial on one side or the other. That doesn't mean Iran shouldn't be dealt with like any other country in the world. And, that doesn't mean we should ignor Iran. We should be engaging with negotiations and relations with Iran like we do with any other country in the region. But there is absolutely no need to talk like Bush has been for the last 6 months threatening the U.S and the world with World War Three. This is foolish and we should expect more from our leaders than childish behaviour and bulligerant language. It's got to stop.
BTW, every intelligence agency in the world said that Iraq had NO WMD's, including the UN weapons investigators at the time. It was our White House administration that insisted on Iraq having the WMD's. They wanted the war and they lied to get what they wanted.

MILITARY -- MILITARY FAMILIES OVERWHELMINGLY REJECT IRAQ WAR: President Bush has long claimed the support of the military community for his war positions. "They know that the only way to stop them [terrorists] is to stay on the offense, to fight the extremists and radicals where they live, so we don't have to fight them where we live," Bush said last April. He added, "The families...understand that our troops want to finish the job." A new Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll finds that "nearly 6 in 10 military families disapprove of Bush's job performance and the way he has run the war, rating him only slightly better than the general population does. Among those families with soldiers, sailors and Marines who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan, 60% say the war in Iraq was not worth the cost." Nearly 70 percent of families with veterans favor withdrawing troops from Iraq either immediately or within the next year, with only 26 percent favoring staying "as long as it takes." VetVoice has more.

It wasn't the intelligence that was wrong. Bush exaggerated and modified the intelligence on Iraq to suit his own political goals. He had someone take a picture of an RV in Texas and called it a moblie Iraqi weapons lab. What a joke!

Either every intelligence agency on the planet got Iraq wrong or we got it right.... I got to go with we got it right and that the weapons were moved... which we now know is true that they are in Syria.... so going with the NIE is correct too....

I vote incorrect. Aren't these the same people that said that Iraq had no WMDs but we still went in and found some?

Iran is on the back burner right now, have faith in your country and it's people guarding you from harm. Don't think for a moment that Iran is not under watch.

Because this report was generated from numerous intelligence agencies...As opposed to Bush's "intelligence" which magically popped up from 'sources' that were under the administration's umbrella.
