Cuddles
Chub
Chub-Chub (mee-mee and Chub-chub!)
Chunky (you said he is nice and CHUNKY so you cam up with that one!)
Nicenchunky!(again, Nice'n'Chunky!)
Blub (like blubber!)
Bubby
Bubbles

Wow, I just noticed that all of my names have a U! Most names that have u as the second sound are good.

He will not be teased in school for having the nickname Chub or whatever because it's not like a permanent one like Abby for Abigail or Billy for William. Alos, he's only a baby, it won't come with him to collage. Well, at least, it will be at home. The teacher won't be calling him, "Chub-Chub Smith! Please come up and take your test!"

I think you should use whatever comes to mind or whatever he reminds you of. However, I'm not too sure I would try to stick with a chubby nickname b/c as a school-aged child he may get embarassed. Unless you go with something like "buddy bear" or something that isn't directed towards being a lil fatty. (Lil fatty--Thats what I called my son while he was an infant...hahha!)

Awww, rolley polley was a good mention below me!

If you want a "cute" name, you could use something like "pooh bear" or "rolly boy". If you want a name that sounds more masculine, there's always "boulder boy" - that was what we called our son, then we shortened it to "bo-bo" til he was older. My nephew - a stomper from the first day he learned to walk - was nicknamed "Thor."

My best advice? Look at your son and think with your heart - what character or item does this sweet little miracle remind me of whenever I look at him? Then go with that - you'll be happy you did!

My son is chunky and our nicknames for him are Porkly and Nolie Polie (his name is Nolan). How about Yummy? That's what we used to call a boy I went to colege with that was chunky.
