as a group I think most people would say low grades means not smart, however some people out there that have been there done that had poor grades had high grades know what it takes to make things happen are less likely to sit in judgement
I used to be a teacher in the public schools and when resumes would come in teachers would look at that resume and make comments on the GPA, if it was low they made fun of that person and did not want them called for interviews, I personally feel teachers who struggled in school make better teachers than those whose got straight A's, just a side note

well i dont know, how would you DESCRICE such people, since you seem to be one yourself. However what your infering in your question is idiotic and immature. Grades are nothing but letters on paper that follow you the rest of your life.Everything and everyone is labeled. Why? I got terrible grades all my life, yet my I.Q. is just shy of "genius". Grades are a reflection of the motivation of the individual. Whenever I try really hard, I always get A's, when I could care less, I get D's. And because of that your going to label me dumb? Such people? Right there is a great example of how Americans must group and label everyone, in order to make themselves comfortable in their own skin. The majority of Americans are scared, broken individuals. This is why they hang by their fingertips onto their money, because its the only source of unadulterated power the will ever have. But how perfect is a dollar? It can ripped, burned, fouled beyond use etc. Don't listen to your teachers and so called leaders. Listen to the world, and listen to yourself. You'll soon feel small, as small as you truely are.

No - college is more difficult than high school, so it's okay if you're grades aren't as high. Professors will expect more from college students than high school teachers will expect from students. Another thing to consider is that everyone learns differently. An otherwise good student who knows the material but is not very good at test-taking may not do well in a class in which the grades are based solely on tests, for example. And there's also the stress that comes with being in college that must be considered. I think the fact that college students make it to college and that they are trying to do well says something about their character; no, I don't think they are dumb.

Underachievers. They may just lack motivation. I did. In high school, I was a C and D student. I just did not see the point in school. Then, after working in retail a couple of years..I went back to school in a two year college, then a 4 year. I was straight A's (I think I got one B)
The point is...it was not that I was not bright, I was just not motivated. What motivates people may not always be the same thing. The teachers can only do so much, so the parents must also seek to understand what motivates each child and try to use that to entice the child to learn.
Easy to say, but hard to do.
By the way, people who graduate college aren't always the greatest minds either. I bet we can all name a certain Harvard MBA that we might not consider the sharpest tool in the White hous......er..."shed"

it really depends on their GPA overall. Someone could get lower grades in math classes but totally excel in English or vice versa. This wouldn't make them stupid it just means they don't have brain/want for structured/stastical classes....they maybe be more of a creative person...which means they could be the next Bill Gates and by all means Bill Gates isn't considered stupid he's considered an innovatived genius but to be innovative you have to be creative.
I think the ppl who are dumb are the ones that let society beat them down into thinking they are dumb b/c they don't excel in ALL subjects. Find something you are good at and excel and become an expert in that field. That's smart. Dumb is not persuing what is natural to you and being better at it. U understand what i'm saying.

When I was at university straight from school I was arrogant enough to think this. Now in the work place and life in general you realise there are different types of intelligence such as social and practical things you can not grades in so are just as relevant but not easy to measure.

Descrice? Are you an anti-intellectual? I wouldn't adopt any kind of socially engineered value or non-value like being dumb is cool. Our government is trying to dumb Americans down so we can't figure out what they're doing as they destroy our country. Better to keep focused on what's going on, keep good grades and survive the best you can. It's about to get really, really rough.

your grades don't always include how hard you are working. In highschool, my grades sucked. But that was because I used to skip school a lot. And do other stupid things.
As a college student, I had to force myself to work. I found I wasn't limited by my old scores. Perhaps the same would be for you.

Dumb is a mean word to say. But yes some people need more time than others to learn. So they take longer. Or they never learn it, So take it as there dumb or they need extra time.
