They didn't

Man evolved from a common ancestor we share with apes.

If you don't know the difference between a monkey and an ape just let me know and I'll get my 11 year old daughter to explain it for you in simple words to help you understand.

When a species splits into two "daughter species" in a process called speciation, it normally only happens once as the particular circumstances that produced the change (geographical isolation; mutation; etc) only usually arise once. If the circumstances arise more than once then further speciation may occur but the resultant species will almost certainly be different.

If christians came from jews, why are there still jews?

We did not come from monkeys or apes. Think about the possibility of us actually evolving from some sub species. If math and science go hand and hand lets talk about some statistics real quick. These are ruff statistics so do not try to comment back and say those are wrong. There is maybe a billionth of a chance that a cell will mutate and cause something new. Which you might see in people with down syndrome or anything physical defect. That is just one cell that mutated for the worse and caused something wrong. Which is exactly what would happen if any sub-human were to evolve. So there is a billionth of a chance for that to happen in one cell. The human body is made of trillions upon trillions of cells. So each one of those cells would have to mutate over time to form what we are now. Plus if even one thing went wrong we would be utterly useless. It is insanity to even believe that we could evolve from any lower life form than we are now. Even Darwin himself says if there is now fossil background to prove that we evolved his theory is incorrect. Has there been a fossil background up to this day to prove that we evolved? No. There hasn't so there is still no proof that humans ever evolved. Why does everyone believe humans even evolved? I am not some big creationism advocate but there is no reason humans had to evolve. Does anyone question if a chicken was a chicken a million years ago? Everyone just blindly believes they were. There are a trillion things that could go wrong in one cell to evolve. Plus factor how many cells would have to evolve it is mathematically impossible. Most people are committing to pure chance. That is just stupidity. If the earth was even a inch closer or an inch further away from the sun than it is right now no life could live on earth. If even one inch out of the trillions of inches that it takes to get to the sun counts. Why wouldn't one off the trillion cells count? I am done trying to prove why we did not evolve from apes. I could write a book on reasons why we didn't. I am not trying to say what I believe is right all I am trying to say is do not follow so blindly what other people think.

As this is in biology not theology then the answer you may be looking for is that man didn't come from monkeys. Apes and man had a common ancestor. Evolution happens very slowly it may take millions of years for species of animal to develop into wholly different species. Man has only been curious about these sort of things for a relatively short time. (A few thousand years at most.)

Darwin didn't gain so much acclaim and notoriety by simply stating man came from monkeys. The theory is not that simple.
Assuming men were still "coming" from monkeys in your sense of the term, the evidence of that would be pretty hard to verify. Try watching a tree grow and you might get the idea.

First of all, we did not come from monkeys. The monkeys and us shared the same ancestor. On the path of evolution, the monkeys took one path and we took another.

As to your actual question, evolution is a very slow process. It took millions of years for human to evolve to what we are today. Modern humans existed for no longer than 10,000 years, a very brief time compare to millions of years. However, we are seeing evolution at work. Within the last 50 years, the bacterias have developed immunity to many of our antiboitics. What used to work now doesn't.

Sigh. Ok, one more time. Millions of years ago, the ancestors of modern monkeys and apes split into new species. Some of these died out over time, and some split further, becoming the ancestors of everything from chimps to orangutans and the dozens of species of monkeys still existing. Some grew bigger brains and learned to walk upright. Most of these died out as well, but one branch survived to become the ancestors of modern humans. All of the still living species are still evolving. For example, many people from Africa have evolved a blood condition which gives them resistance to malaria, which we call sickle cell anemia. Some people from Eastern Europe have developed resistance to tuberculosis. People living in northern climates have evolved fair skin and hair to allow greater metabolization of sunlight. Evolution is happening all around you, all the time.

Monkey is still doing what monkey always did. He is doing this, along with the bacteria and the other simpler life forms, because the environment still lets him. Nature has provided a niche for us, the monkeys, the bacteria, and millions of other identifiable species. The dinosaurs, however, were largely unable to adapt, and left only a few extant forms such as crocodiles. We determine that some creatures lived before mankind by means of the fossil record.

I was going to say yeah right but then I saw the stupid answer from the first guy and realized he may be right except he must have evolved from a monkey not Prez Bush.

We did not come from monkeys, we share a common ancestor with primates but at no time were we monkeys. We were something entirely different that spun off in two different directions.

No one is suggesting we came from monkeys. The theory of evolution simply asserts that we share a common ancestor. Science isn't so scary when you actually study the facts rather than jumping to irrational conclusions.
