I have a GSXR and do the 1/4 in the high 9sec. (I geared it, not stock) My fastest top speed 170mph (not in the 1/4) was before I geared it. Gearing gives you better take off but takes away from top speed. That's ok, I don't go over 100 to much in regular driving.

I have never raced my CBR1000RR in the quarter but I kept my 02 CBR600f4i and my best run was a 10.26 not sure of the speed guessing 120s. Extended swing arm seemed to be the mod which helped the most but is has the whole gambit of intake, custom map and exhaust changes as well. The longer swing arm along with lowering the front end allow you to ride out the wheelie at launch with more control which really helps bring down the time. Don't expect to put down the times you find in the back of the magazines, they were done by pro drivers.

Whatever the POSTED speed limit is on the side of the road and never any faster cause the coppers are wating for you to be THAT STUPID!
As for my Ride, it is a Honda CB250 nighthawk, but I also have access to my Husbands motorcycle which is a Suzuki GSXF 750 and that does the speed limit really well too it just happens to be a little quicker in getting there than the 250.

I have a ZZR-600, and have never timed myself in 1/4 mile. I really don't care. The top speed of my bike at 6000' is 155mph, but I stay well below that most of the time.
I don't find twisting the throttle in a straight line to be very fulfilling, as it takes zero skill to do so. I prefer to take freeway exits at over 70 and lean the bike like it was meant to do.

Forget 1/4 mile strips, they dont last long enough.
Donnington Park, last year on my stripped RC51 (VTR 1000) in the dry, I did a 1.39.8. Not too bad I quess.
Only 7 / 8 seconds per lap slower then the best W.S.B riders in the world, but I aint the best in world !!
We all had fun that day!

VTX 1300 R (Stock)Top Speed 130 mph (Buried Speedometer at 130) Don't know how fast I went / 1/4 mile 11sec......Can Hit 80 in second gear once I hit third its by by !
VTX 1800 (KN Filter Power Command) Was clocked at 156mph / 1/4 mile 11 sec. I spin tire to much on take off ,Spin tire to much in second and third (need New Tire)so losing time probably could do 1/4 mile in 10 The Bike is a Beast
Suzuki Intruder 800 (no baffles) It sounds a lot meaner than it is .Its just a big boy that wants to grow up
